‘Panchayat’ Season 5: Amazon Prime Video confirms 2026 return; Abhishek faces vengeful leadership

‘Panchayat’ Season 5 is officially moving ahead, and the makers have confirmed that the next chapter of the Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta and Raghubir Yadav starrer will arrive in 2026. The rural comedy-drama will return to Phulera after season 4 left viewers with major questions about the village election, Abhishek Tripathi’s future, his bond with Rinki and the attack on Pradhan Ji.

‘Panchayat’ Season 5 OTT release details

According to The Economic Times, ‘Panchayat’ Season 5 was announced as part of Amazon Prime Video’s new Indian content slate, and the show will stream on the platform. An exact release date has not been announced yet, but a 2026 premiere window is confirmed. The new season will again follow Abhishek Tripathi, played by Jitendra Kumar, as he deals with life in Phulera. Abhishek’s journey from an engineering graduate to a panchayat secretary remains the center of the story. Season 5 is expected to bring back Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Sanvikaa, Faisal Malik and Chandan Roy. The series comes from The Viral Fever. Chandan Kumar has written the show, while Deepak Kumar Mishra has directed it. The makers have built ‘Panchayat’ around simple humor, village politics and emotional conflicts.

‘Panchayat’ season 5 plot and cast

Season 5 will take the story forward from the events of season 4. The earlier season ended with Abhishek clearing his CAT exam and expressing his feelings for Rinki. At the same time, the village election changed Phulera’s power balance after Manju Devi lost to Kranti Devi. Writer Chandan Kumar had earlier told IANS that the next season will answer questions about the election, Sachiv ji and Rinki’s relationship, and the mystery behind the attack on Pradhan Ji. However, he also indicated that the answers will come with twists.Neena Gupta also reacted to fan theories about Manju Devi’s political comeback. She jokingly said, “The script has leaked. Get ready for the next season – the script has already leaked!”The official synopsis says Abhishek will face a difficult phase under “new, vengeful leadership.” While he focuses on his MBA plans, unresolved village conflicts continue to pull him back into Phulera’s politics.The streamer has also announced new seasons of TVF’s ‘Sandeep Bhaiya’ and ‘Gram Chikitsalay’ as part of the same content slate.
