Nick Jonas dropped new music, and over the weekend, the singer took to the stage to perform his new tracks LIVE at his show in Los Angeles. Videos doing the rounds online, see Nick taking to the stage in his brown suit, and performing his tracks like ‘Chains’, ‘Hope’, ‘Princesses’, ‘Sweet To Me’ and more. Fans on social media, gushed about the singer’s cool moves and his heartfelt performances, especially while performing his deeply personal track ‘Princesses’, a song he dedicated to his daughter, Malti Marie.

Nick Jonas on how Malti inspired his songIn an interview with People, the doting dad offered fans with a rare glimpse into his life as a father and the inspiration behind the track.The singer opened up about how the song came together during a studio session with collaborators JP Saxe and Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman. He said, “My daughter loves Princesses and loves to play Princess.” Talking about what went into creating the track, he said, “The day we wrote that song, I’d come in – me, JP Saxe and Gitty were writing a different song. And then basically I went to the bathroom, came back and was like, ‘Wait, can we just try something and just take a swing and see?’”

Nick Jonas on writing ‘Princesses’

Jonas admitted he wasn’t sure whether the idea would resonate, saying, “I didn’t know if it was something they would connect with, but I said, ‘I have this title, Princesses,’ and they both stood up straight and were like, ‘Yes, let’s do that.’”He explained that the song they eventually came up with, was from his perspective as a parent. “The verses are just speaking about how I see her and how she sees the world. And the chorus is that desire to just play princesses and stay stuck in that moment with her forever if I could.” On the work front, Nick is currently working on a number of film projects, including the highly anticipated ‘Jumanji’.
