'I began chatting with her...': Naga Chaitanya says he met Sobhita Dhulipala on Instagram

Naga Chaitanya revealed his love story with wife Sobhita Dhulipala, detailing their Instagram beginnings. He shared how a simple emoji comment led to their meeting and how she’s his biggest support. Chaitanya playfully recounted a misunderstanding over a song nickname, highlighting their shared love for South Indian food as a bonding point.

Naga Chaitanya, who tied the knot with wife Sobhita Dhulipala on December 4, 2024, recently opened up about their love story. The actor spilled the beans on how it all began and where.

They met on Instagram

On Jagapathi Babu’s talk show Jayammu Nischayammu Raa, Chaitanya shared, “We met on Instagram. I never imagined I would meet my partner there. I was familiar with her work. One day, when I posted about Shoyu (his cloud kitchen), she commented with an emoji. I began chatting with her, and soon after, we met.” He also went on to call her his biggest support system.

Chaitanya’s rapid-fire confession

During a fun rapid-fire segment, when asked to name one thing he couldn’t live without, Chaitanya immediately replied, ‘Sobhita, my wife!’

A playful misunderstanding

He further shared an incident, “She was angry with me because of the song ‘Bujji Thalli’. It’s actually the nickname I have given her. She thought I had asked the director (Chandoo Mondeti) to use it in the film. She didn’t talk to me for a few days — but why would I do that?”In an earlier chat with Vogue, Sobhita had shared, “He was clear-headed, even-keeled, and optimistic. At that point, I was also at a place in my head where I could see that I was ready to give and to receive. The timing was just perfect. We love eating—and not just a little. We really bond over South Indian.”Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita tied the knot in December 2024 in an intimate ceremony at Annapurna Studios, Hyderabad, after dating for two years. The actor was previously married to Samantha Ruth Prabhu from 2017 to 2021. On the work front, Naga Chaitanya was last seen in the film ‘Thandel’ which received decent reviews.
