Mudassar recalls shooting grand song sequence with Salman

‘Salman Khan ne usme kya baap level perform kiya hai’: ‘Maatrubhumi’ choreographer Mudassar Khan recalls shooting grand song sequence with Bhaijaan

Mudassar Khan praised Salman Khan’s energetic performance in a massive Maatrubhumi song featuring 200 dancers. Salman reportedly underwent intense physical training in Ladakh for the war drama, previously titled Battle of Galwan. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film has faced delays due to post-production work.

Salman Khan is currently busy shooting for his upcoming war drama Maatrubhumi. Choreographer Mudassar Khan recently opened up about working with the superstar on a grand song sequence for the film and praised Salman’s energy, dedication, and larger-than-life screen presence during the shoot.

Mudassar Khan shares details from the shoot

Speaking to Filmygyan, Mudassar revealed that the song sequence was mounted on a massive scale with nearly 200 dancers.“Abhi maine ek gaana kiya hai Salman Khan sir ke saath in Maatrubhumi, it’s a very big song. 200 dancer hai, edit ho raha hai, aur Bhai ne usme kya baap level perform kiya hai. Humney 5 din shooting kiya tha,” he said.

Salman Khan’s intense transformation for the film

According to reports, Salman has undergone a major physical transformation for Maatrubhumi. The actor reportedly trained in extreme high-altitude conditions in Ladakh, combining endurance exercises with intense weight-training sessions.Reports also suggest that during the film’s 45-day Ladakh schedule, Salman followed a calisthenics-based workout routine as carrying a complete gym setup to the remote shooting locations proved difficult. The fitness regimen is being described as one of the toughest the actor has undertaken in recent years.

From ‘Battle of Galwan’ to ‘Maatrubhumi’

The film, titled Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, was previously known as Battle of Galwan. Reports suggest the project has been delayed due to additional post-production work and patch shoots. The film was initially expected to release on April 17, 2026.Director Apoorva Lakhia reportedly revealed that both titles had been registered from the beginning, but the makers eventually felt Maatrubhumi captured the emotional core of the story more effectively than a title focused purely on the war backdrop.
