‘Mirai’ BO: The Teja Sajja film slows at Rs 85 crore

'Mirai' box office collections day 15: The Teja Sajja film struggles amid Pawan Kalyan's 'OG' storm; slows at Rs 85 crore

Teja Sajja’s fantasy adventure ‘Mirai’ is finding it tough to maintain momentum at the box office. Now in its third week, the film has crossed Rs 85 crore in total earnings, but competition from Pawan Kalyan’s power-packed ‘They Call Him OG’ has clearly affected its growth.Collections dip in third weekAccording to early estimates from Sacnilk website, ‘Mirai’ collected only Rs 57 lakh across all languages on its fifteenth day, September 26. This takes its overall tally to Rs 85.07 crore in 15 days. The second week saw a significant drop as it pulled in Rs 19.4 crore which is a sharp decline of over 70% compared to the first week. Telugu audience remains faithful to the Teja Sajja starrerDespite the dip, ‘Mirai’ continues to see its strongest response from Telugu states. On Friday, the film recorded a 21.77% overall Telugu occupancy. The evening and night shows performing the best at around 26%. The Hindi belt showed occupancy at just 8.05%. Morning shows in Hindi began with a poor 5.79% which peaked slightly at 12.63% during night screenings. OG storm affects the movieWhat makes ‘Mirai’s struggle more evident is the storm created by ‘They Call Him OG’. The Pawan Kalyan starrer has already crossed Rs 100 crore in just two days. On the same Friday that Mirai managed Rs 57 lakh, OG roared with Rs 19.25 crore. Featuring Teja Sajja alongside Ritika Nayak, Manoj Manchu, Jagapathi Babu, Shriya Saran, and Jayaram, Mirai is getting good reviews from the audiences even though it is facing a huge pressure from the Pawan Kalyan starrer ‘OG’.
