Mikayla Matthews, best known as one of the most popular contestants on ‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,’ announced that she and her longtime partner, Jace Terry, have mutually decided to end their eight-year marriage. While appearing on Episode 9 of Season 4 of ‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,’ Matthews revealed in a confessional that she and Terry have chosen to separate and officially end their relationship. “We both agreed to do a separation,” she stated, further explaining that the couple had tried to make things work; however, not much had changed between them. She also revealed that the two of them had started couples therapy; however, through all of that, they felt that nothing was working out for either of them.Throughout the season, Matthews has also been open about having an unnamed chronic illness, which she mentions once again. While talking about it, the star revealed, “It’s so incredible that everyone’s getting these opportunities and going out and living their dreams, but my health has held me back from saying yes to a lot of opportunities. It’s definitely discouraging and frustrating, and it kind of holds me back in other places in my life, like my marriage with Jace.”

Mikayla Matthews also shares that her past experience with sexual abuse has also affected her relationship

The 25-year-old, during another segment of the show, while talking to Mayci Neeley, revealed that her past experiences have also played a role in dictating her relationship. She shared that her instance of sexual abuse from when she was still a child has affected her long enough, especially her marriage. Matthews shared, “We both get to a point where we feel really helpless about it,” explaining that there were too many issues that neither of them had the energy to tackle, which is why they finally chose to separate.The couple has 4 children in total: Beckham, who is 8, Haven, who is currently 6, Tommie, who is only 4 years old; as well as Lottie, their youngest addition to the house, who was only just born in July last year.
