Meezaan: ‘Dad smashed it in 3 Shaukk in De De Pyaar De 2’

Meezaan Jafri: ‘Dad smashed it in 3 Shaukk in De De Pyaar De 2’

In a heartfelt revelation, Meezaan Jafri discusses the emotional journey of filming De De Pyaar De 2, dancing alongside his father, the renowned Jaaved Jaaferi. He shares that Jaaved’s initial concerns were not about dancing with his son but about the weight of stepping back into the limelight after a lengthy absence.

For Meezaan Jafri, De De Pyaar De 2 will always remain a deeply personal film, not merely because of his role, but because of a special moment that allowed him to share the screen with the man whose footsteps he has followed all his life: his father, the legendary Jaaved Jaaferi. The duo danced on Karan Ajula’s 3 Shaukk and in an interview Ajay Devgn stated that it was Jaaved who was a bit scared of matching steps with his son. Talking about it in an exclusive interview with ETimes, Meezaan said “ Dad is competitive at the end of the day and he’s also a dancer. So his inner passion and competitiveness came alive when it came to the dance sequence. And I don’t think he was scared to dance with me. I think he was just scared to dance in general because he was dancing after a very long time and not just dancing, but dancing on screen.”“So that was, I think, more of Jaaved Jaaferi, the legendary dancer coming after years and telling himself he had to live up to that,” Meezaan shared. “I’m sure all those memories must have come into his head when he danced on screen. All the years of appreciation, the expectations people had-somewhere that must be running in his mind. But of course, you know, father is father. So he smashed it in the end ” , Meezaan added. But the film gave Meezaan another priceless memory, one beyond the set, beyond the film, and beyond choreography which has shaking a leg not only with his father but also two uncles Ravi Behl and Naved Jari. All four of them made a reel while dancing to 3 Shaukk and to many it felt nostalgic as they remembered the days of Boogie Woogie- the famous dance show of the the 90s and early 200s. . Speaking fondly, he said, “ I’m so glad we came up with that idea and executed it in the reels.I had a smile on my face watching them rehearse,” Meezaan said. “The banter between them was lovely. I haven’t even put up the BTS of that reel, I’ll post it now. The banter between the three of them while rehearsing was so entertaining.”For Meezaan, the reel wasn’t just content for social media. It was a moment of legacy as his two uncles were also with him, “I’m so glad I got to share that moment with them,” he said softly. “They’ve seen me grow up. I’m like their child.”De De Pyaar De 2 also featured Rakul Preet Singh, R Madhavan and Gautami Kapoor. The film completed 12 days at the box office and has collected nealry Rs 65 crore till now.
