Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ has turned out to be a box office success story, with powerful word-of-mouth helping it overcome a slow start and build strong momentum over its first two weeks in theatres, ultimately crossing the Rs 50 crore mark at the domestic box office. The film has now entered its third week in cinemas.

The love story set in the partition era opened to critical acclaim but struggled to make a big impact at the ticket windows in its opening week, earning an estimated Rs 12.25 crore in its first seven days. The second week, however, told a very different story, as audiences turned up in large numbers following strong word-of-mouth buzz.On Day 15, the Diljit Dosanjh starrer registered a growth of 21.2% over its previous day’s earnings. As per the Sacnilk report, the film collected Rs 2.85 crore across 1,952 shows. The total India net collection now stands at Rs 37.65 crore, while the India gross has reached Rs 44.85 crore.

‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ overseas and worldwide collection

On the international front, the film added Rs 25 lakh on Day 15, pushing its total overseas gross to Rs 13.80 crore. Combined with the domestic figures, the worldwide gross collection of Main Vaapas Aaunga now stands at Rs 58.65 crore.
