The Maharashtra Home Department has ordered a thorough investigation into all video content associated with stand-up comedian Pranit More. The move comes after one of his shows sparked a major controversy, following which authorities decided to take action and look into the matter in detail.

Maharashtra cyber police to examine Pranit More’s show videos and viral clips

As per a report by IANS, the Maharashtra Cyber Police has been given the responsibility of carrying out the investigation. The cyber unit will closely examine all of Pranit More’s show videos, viral clips and other content that he has posted across various social media platforms, leaving no stone unturned in their probe.

What triggered the controversy around Pranit More

The controversy around Pranit More began after a video from one of his stand-up shows started circulating on social media. In the clip, a man named Himanshu Jangra made a joke suggesting that spending Rs 370 on biryani during a date gave him the right to physical intimacy. Another clip from the same show featured MBBS student Sejal Pawar, who talked about anatomy sessions with cadavers and claimed that students would often joke about and mock the private parts of male cadavers. Pranit More was seen laughing at both these remarks, which did not go down well with people online and sparked a massive backlash against him. In the video, Pranit said, “Jinko bhi iss wajah se hurt hua hai, un sabse main maafi maangna chahta hoon. Jo bhi legal proceedings mere against ho rahi hain, uske liye main authorities ke saath co-operate bhi kar raha hoon. Main yehi request karna chahta hoon ki please mujhe ek chance do, main better insaan banke dikhaunga (I apologise to anyone who has been hurt by this. I am cooperating with the authorities regarding any legal proceedings being initiated against me. I just want to request that you please give me a chance, and I will become a better person.”

FIR registered against Pranit More, Himanshu Jangra and Sejal Pawar; both lose jobs

The Maharashtra Cyber Police took strong action and registered an FIR against stand-up comedian Pranit More, Himanshu Jangra, Dr Sejal Pawar and others in connection with the allegedly obscene and objectionable content. Medical College and KEM Hospital, was also put on a compulsory 15-day leave following the widespread outrage over her remarks in the viral video. Go to Source
