‘Madharasi’ crosses Rs 40 crore mark in India

‘Madharasi’ Box Office collection day 4: AR Murugadoss’s film starring Sivakarthikeyan sees a MAJOR DIP but crosses Rs 40 crore mark in India

Sivakarthikeyan’s much-awaited action thriller ‘Madharasi’, directed by the well-known AR Murugadoss, is enjoying a strong run at the box office. In just four days, the film has managed to cross the Rs 40 crore mark in India. The film has impressed audiences despite clashing with other major releases. However, Monday brought the first real challenge for the makers, as the numbers saw a steep fall compared to the opening weekend.

‘Madharasi’ began its journey with strong opening

The film opened on Friday with an impressive Rs 13.65 crore, giving Sivakarthikeyan one of his best openings. The buzz around the film, coupled with AR Murugadoss’s return to direction, worked wonders at the ticket window.Saturday and Sunday continued the momentum with collections of Rs 12.10 crore and Rs 10.65 crore respectively. The three-day total touched Rs 36.40 crore, which gave the team a solid weekend to celebrate.

Monday test shows a major box office dip

Every film faces its toughest test on the first Monday, and ‘Madharasi’ was no different. According to early estimates, the movie earned around Rs 4.15 crore net on its fourth day across all languages. This was the film’s first single-digit collection since release, showing a visible dip in audience footfall. The overall occupancy numbers reflected this as well. On Monday, Tamil occupancy stood at 25.91%, while Telugu occupancy was 16.25%.

Four-day box office collection of ‘Madharasi’

‘Madharasi’ stands ahead of its competition

Against this backdrop, ‘Madharasi’ is clearly ahead of its rivals.

Worldwide box office numbers cross Rs 63 crore

While the India numbers are impressive, ‘Madharasi’ has also done big business worldwide. In its first three days, the film’s worldwide collection touched Rs 63 crore, showing its appeal beyond domestic markets.

What is the story of ‘Madharasi’

‘Madharasi’ isn’t just about style and stunts. The story follows a police officer who is on a dangerous mission to stop a gang smuggling illegal weapons into Tamil Nadu. What makes it more gripping is the officer’s personal struggles, as he battles not just criminals but also his inner demons.
