Directed by Dominic Arun, the film raked in Rs 90 lakhs on Sunday alone, bringing its total India net earnings to a staggering Rs 153.95 crore.

Kalyani Priyadarshan’s ‘Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra’ continues its remarkable theatrical run even after 39 days, holding its ground amid the wave of new releases like ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ and the Dhanush starrer drama film ‘Idli Kadai’.According to early estimates by the Sacnilk website, the film earned around Rs 90 lakhs on Sunday, taking its total India net collection to Rs 153.95 crore.Directed by Dominic Arun, ‘Lokah’ has stood out as one of the most ambitious Malayalam films of the year. Recently the makers had announced the second part of ‘Lokah’ which will revolve around Tovino Thomas’ Chathan character.

Weekend momentum for ‘Lokah’

On its sixth weekend, the film recorded a healthy upward trend, with Sunday collections climbing to Rs 90 lakhs from Saturday’s Rs 70 lakhs. The Malayalam version alone saw a solid 41.42% occupancy, with afternoon and evening shows witnessing the highest turnout. The Tamil and Telugu versions contributed modestly but helped the film maintain visibility across multiple regions.Recently Kalyani Priyadarshan had gifted a luxury watch to the ‘Lokah’ cinematographer Nimish Ravi and the latter took to Instagram and wrote, “Dear Kalyani,This one is so generous of you.Thank you so much. This colour connects me directly to Lokah and Chandra.More than anything this one will remind me that constant hardwork will always lead to good things. This movie and the people associated with it is a reminder for that.”
