‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’ holds ground amid ‘Dhurandhar’ wave

'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2' box office collection Day 3: Kapil Sharma starrer holds ground amid Ranveer Singh's 'Dhurandhar' wave

‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’, starring Kapil Sharma in the lead, has managed to hold its ground at the domestic box office despite facing stiff competition from Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna’s runaway hit ‘Dhurandhar’. While the sequel to the 2015 comedy was expected to draw in larger crowds, considering the box office performance of the first film, its opening weekend performance has remained rather low. ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’ box office collection day 3On Day 3, ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’ earned an estimated Rs 2.85 crore India net collection. The film showed only limited growth from its opening day collection of Rs 1.85 crore, while Saturday saw a marginal rise with earnings of around Rs 2.5 crore net. With Sunday’s numbers added, the film’s total opening weekend collection now stands at an estimated Rs 7.20 crore net, as per early estimates on Sacnilk. ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’ worldwide box office totalAs per the report, the film’s gross collections hit an estimated Rs 8.6 crore. With an additional Rs 50 lakh coming in from international markets, the film’s total worldwide box office collection hit an estimated Rs 9.1 crore. ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’ box office performanceThese collections are a far cry from the huge Rs 28.8 crore weekend that the first instalment of the franchise enjoyed at the box office. The film was declared a ‘hit’ at the box office, with its gross total collections hitting an estimated Rs 67.47 crore. ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’ occupancyOccupancy figures on Sunday saw good traction, with the film registering an overall 40.27% Hindi occupancy, with morning shows opening slowly at 9.45%. Collections picked up significantly during the afternoon, recording 41.07% occupancy, before peaking in the evening at 59.70%. Night shows, however, saw a slight dip, settling at 50.87%.‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’ vs ‘Dhurandhar’As per trade reports, the film is facing an uphill task at the box office, largely due to the phenomenal performance of ‘Dhurandhar’. The Aditya Dhar directorial wrapped up its first week with an impressive Rs 207.25 crore net and followed it up with a massive Rs 144.5 crore haul in its second weekend alone. This dominance of ‘Dhurandhar’ at the box office, has significantly impacted the business of newer releases, including ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’.Kapil Sharma’s highest-earning filmsDespite its relatively muted performance, ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’ has already become Kapil Sharma’s third highest-grossing film to date, with its Rs 7.20 crore collection. The film is now just a few crore short of surpassing ‘Firangi’ to claim the second spot on the actor’s box office list with an estimated collection of Rs 10.21 crore. Meanwhile, ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’ continues to remain Kapil’s highest-earning film, with a lifetime net collection of Rs 49.98 crore.Directed by Anukalp Goswami, ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’ also stars Manjot Singh, Tridha Choudhury, Ayesha Khan, Parul Gulati, Hira Warina and Asrani in key roles.
