Many fans have been wondering if McKidd may be leaving the Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Reacting to the ongoing rumors while in conversation with Entertainment Weekly, McKidd said, “Never say never.”

He added that he had seen a lot of these speculations online about how he may be getting cast as Arthur Weasley in the upcoming series. Many fans have also been drawing comparisons between him and actor Mark Williams, who played the role in the film franchise. The rumors blazed on further after HH, the actress who has been cast as Ginny Weasley, started following him on her social media account. McKidd further commented, “I’m a massive Harry Potter fan,” sharing that he is always open to such possibilities.

During the interview, the actor also revealed shocking details, sharing that he had almost been cast in the original film franchise. However, he had to reject the offer because of other commitments. Providing more details on the matter, he shared that he had been waiting on the news of whether his show ‘Journeyman’ had been picked up for a second season or not.“I was under contract, and [director] David Yates sent me a letter offering me a role in the final two Harry Potter films, and I was unable to do it because I was waiting to hear if Journeyman was picked up or not, and then it was not picked up,” he quipped, sharing that he missed out on a big opportunity.“So I missed out on that chance of being in the final two Harry Potter films back in the day, which still makes me sad,” he stated. He concluded by adding that if the rumors can turn into something real, then he would be very happy about the situation and that he would love to have another “crack” at the role. Go to Source
