‘Karuppu’ continues showing strength in fourth week

Even after entering its fourth week in theatres, ‘Karuppu’ has continued maintaining a stable run at the box office. The film recorded another increase in collections on Day 24 and showed that audience interest remains strong.According to Sacnilk, the film collected around Rs 1.75 crore in India net on its twenty-fourth day. This reflects a rise of approximately 19 percent compared to Day 23 collections of Rs 1.47 crore. ‘Karuppu’ has now reached approximately Rs 193.40 crore in India net collections. Domestic gross collections currently stand at around Rs 223.54 crore.International markets added close to Rs 20 lakh on Day 24. This pushed overseas gross collections to approximately Rs 80.60 crore. The film’s worldwide gross collection currently stands at approximately Rs 304.14 crore.ETimes gave the Trisha Krishnan starrer 2.5 stars out of 5 and our review read, “What makes Karuppu initially engaging is how firmly it roots itself in the legal proceedings surrounding a stolen jewels case involving Indrans and Anagha Maaya Ravi, who play a helpless father and daughter. The first half spends considerable time building investment in their desperation, vulnerability and pursuit of justice, which in turn gives the film both its emotional core and its most effective mass-movie hook: the idea of an ordinary man challenging a God forced to live and behave as a mortal.”
