Netizens lashed out at the filmmaker after he compared people’s favorite web show, ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’, with his film ‘Student Of The Year’. Karan Johar took to Instagram and shared a picture of Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra from ‘Student Of The Year’. The actors played the roles of Rohan and Abhi in the 2012 movie. Sharing the picture, he wrote, “Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah !!!! ???? It’s Team Rohan or Team Abhimanyu!!! #weweretherefirst #summershanayaturnedpretty”.However, this didn’t go well with the fans of the popular web show. Well, they took over their respective social media accounts to bash the filmmaker.

A fan posted, “Ek boond ki bhi hesitation nahi hai bhai. This gives me second-hand embarrassment.” Another web series admirer added, “Who’s gonna tell him that TSITP is based on the highest-selling book which released back in 2011?” The person further added, “He is next-level delusion man lol.
