Kantara Chapter 1 box office day 25: Rishab Shetty film maintains strong momentum, inches closer to Rs 600 crore mark

Kantara Chapter 1 is performing exceptionally well at the box office. The film has crossed Rs 800 crore worldwide. It continues to draw large audiences across India. The movie’s success follows the original Kantara’s massive earnings. Actress Rukmini Vasanth discusses her role as Kanakavathi. The film’s performance is a major highlight.

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 continued its phenomenal box office run into the fourth week, maintaining strong momentum even on Day 25. The film follows the success of the 2022 original, which earned Rs 407.82 crore worldwide on a modest Rs 16 crore budget.

Day 25 collection and total earnings

On Day 25, the movie has earned Rs 10 crore approximately. The movie has minted Rs 589 crore in 25 days across all languages in India, according to Sacnilk.The report also stated that the film had an overall 40.51 percent Kannada, 26.50 percent Telugu, 35.72 percent Hindi, 49.24 percent Tamil, and 24.81 percent Malayalam occupancy on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

Highest-grossing Indian film of 2025

According to its makers, Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 is the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025, crossing Rs 800 crore worldwide. Hombale Films stated that the movie had earned Rs 717 crore in two weeks and added Rs 92 crore more in the following six days.With Rs 809 crore, the film surpassed Chhaava’s Rs 807 crore. However, Sacnilk estimated its total closer to Rs 775 crore after 21 days.

Opening weekend and first week performance

The film had a blockbuster opening, earning Rs 61.85 crore on its first day, with huge crowds across Karnataka, Hindi-speaking regions, and Telugu states. The weekend continued strong, with Day 2, Day 3, and Day 4 bringing in Rs 45.4 crore, Rs 55 crore, and Rs 63 crore, respectively. By the end of the first week, the total collection reached Rs 337.4 crore.The second week added Rs 147.85 crore, and the third week brought in Rs 78.85 crore. Karnataka remained the biggest market, contributing Rs 181 crore, while the Hindi version earned Rs 192 crore. The Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam versions also did well. On October 25 alone, the Rishab Shetty film collected Rs 9 crore.

Rukmini Vasanth on portraying Kanakavathi

In an interview with Cinema Express, Rukmini Vasanth shared, “As Kanakavathi, I had to emotionally connect with the rituals, the music, and the atmosphere. Honestly, Kanakavathi is not anything like me.”She added that the role has a different kind of body language. The actress added, “Isn’t getting to embody different worlds and characters the best part of being an actor? And I have to make it believable, right?”The actress acknowledged the fact that what’s the point of doing a role she couldn’t connect with?
