Kantara 2 has been having a dream run at the box office with its week 1 collection of Rs 337.4 crore with day averaging at Rs 42 crore. With Kannada version at Rs 106.95 crore, Telugu version at Rs 63.55 crore, Hindi version at Rs 108.75 crore, Tamil version at Rs 31.5 crore and Malayalam version at Rs 26.65. Over the second weekend in 4 days the film added another Rs 114.5 crore to its tally taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 451.9 crore. The film still has long legs at the box office with no major film releasing till Diwali which will see Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thamma colliding with Harshwardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat.
Kantara 2 has already become the 12th biggest film of Indian Cinema but to push ahead from here it will need high strides. At 11th position is Sunny Deol’s comeback film Gadar 2 with a lifetime collection of Rs 525.7 crore and Kantara 2 would need more than Rs 75 crore to breach that landmark. Kantara 2 features Gulshan Devaiah, Jayaram and Rakimini Vasanth in pivotal roles, the makers have announced the third part with the climax of the second part.
