Kajol recalls receiving advice from 8-year-old son Yug

'How much do you love yourself?': Kajol recalls receiving advice from 8-year-old son Yug about self care, urges parents to listen to their kids

Kajol recently shared parenting insights, highlighting the importance of listening to children. She recounted a heartwarming interaction where her son Yug, at eight, taught her about 100% self-love, a lesson she still cherishes. The actress also celebrated Yug’s 15th birthday and displayed her trademark humor during a recent Durga Puja event with Ajay Devgn.

Kajol recently opened up about parenting on her talk show Too Much with Twinkle Khanna. She also shared a heartwarming interaction with her son, Yug. Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt were the guests on the episode. Twinkle and Kajol asked Alia and Varun how becoming parents had changed their lives. The actors admitted it had changed them completely. Alia then asked if the hosts had any parenting tips. Kajol replied, “Listen to them. Just listen.” She explained that often we don’t pay enough attention to what children say, thinking they’re too young to understand, but that’s not true.Elaborating further, she added, “I remember that my son at 8 years old turned around and at one point asked me this: ‘How much do you love yourself?’ I said I love myself maybe like 60-70% of the time. The 30% is off and on, and he was like, ‘No you have to love yourself 100% of the time.” I heard it and have kept that in mind ever since.”Yug recently celebrated his 15th birthday and on the special occasion, the ‘DDLJ’ actress shared a heartwarming post for him. Her post read, “Happy happy birthday to this little man! Ur smile is the bestest thing in the whole wide world.. May we always be arm in arm and laugh at the weirdest stuff! Love you Yug.” Meanwhile, during Durga Puja recently, a light-hearted moment between Kajol, Ajay and the paparazzi stole the spotlight. In a viral video, as Ajay stood before the Durga idol, photographers called him “slim.” Kajol immediately jumped in with her trademark humour, quipping, “Khate nahi hain. Bhooke pyaase rehte hai (He doesn’t eat. He stays hungry and thirsty).”Kajol and Ajay started dating in 1994 and got married in 1999. The actors also have a daughter named Nysa Devgan, who was born on April 20, 2003, and a son, Yug, who was born in 2010.
