Dulquer Salmaan’s much-anticipated period film ‘Kaantha’ continued its steady run at the box office on Day 5, pushing its total India net collection to an impressive Rs 17.40 crore. The film is directed by Selvamani Selvaraj. After delivering a powerful opening weekend, ‘Kaantha’ saw predictable dips on Monday and Tuesday. However, the film still managed to collect Rs 1.75 crore (early estimates) on its fifth day across all languages, according to data from Sacnilk website.

Day wise performance

The film opened well with Rs 4.35 crore on Friday which was driven largely by Tamil Nadu. Saturday saw further growth. The film brought in Rs 5 crore. This was followed by a solid Sunday at Rs 4.5 crore, closing the weekend on a high note.As expected, Monday witnessed a sharper decline, dropping to Rs 1.8 crore, and Tuesday held nearly steady with Rs 1.75 crore, reflecting normal weekday behaviour for a thriller drama with strong word-of-mouth but limited family audiences. With these numbers, Kaantha has now accumulated Rs 17.40 crore in India within five days.
