Jugal Hansraj reveals he danced with a plaster in one foot in ‘Aankhein Khuli’ song from ‘Mohabbatein’; fans praise actor’s dedication

More than twenty years after ‘Mohabbatein’ became a Bollywood classic, Jugal Hansraj has surprised fans with a little-known behind-the-scenes detail from the iconic song ‘Aankhein Khuli’. The actor revealed that he filmed a major portion of the track while dealing with a foot injury, something viewers never noticed in the final cut.

Jugal Hansraj shares the surprising story the interview

Speaking to Radio Nasha in a recent interview, Jugal Hansraj revealed that he shot the song while recovering from a bone fracture. He said, “Aadha gaana maine plaster pehen kar kiya hai, it was a fracture, right foot mai joota tha and left peher mai socks. If you pause and see the second half I have no shoes on my left foot.” (“I did half the song wearing a plaster, I had a fracture. I wore a shoe on my right foot and only socks on my left. If you pause and see the second half, I am not wearing a shoe on my left foot.”)After the clip went viral, fans were quick to express their admiration for Jugal Hansraj’s dedication during the shoot. One user wrote, “It’s never easy when a person suffers a bone fracture, very painful. Hat off to him, he did the shot.” Another fan reacted with surprise, saying, “Now I cannot watch it without thinking of the pain. Ouchh!”

About ‘Mohabbatein’

Released in 2000, ‘Mohabbatein’ remains one of the most celebrated romantic dramas of its era. Directed by Aditya Chopra, the film centers around the clash between strict discipline and youthful love. Amitabh Bachchan played the authoritarian headmaster Narayan Shankar, while Shah Rukh Khan appeared as Raj Aryan, a music teacher who encourages students to follow their hearts. The ensemble cast featured Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jimmy Sheirgill, Jugal Hansraj, Uday Chopra, Shamita Shetty, Kim Sharma and Preeti Jhangiani. ‘Mohabbatein’ enjoyed a strong theatrical run and became one of the biggest hits of 2000. It collected Rs. 76.91 crore worldwide, with Rs. 41.88 crore nett (Rs. 58.17 crore gross) coming from India and Rs. 18.74 crore gross from overseas markets.
