'Jolly LLB 3' box office collection day 5: The Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi film sees growth on Tuesday, crosses Rs 65 crore

Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi’s ‘Jolly LLB 3’ released on Friday and had a decent opening day number. The film is as such that more than a bumper opening, it was expected to see growth through positive word of mouth and that has happened. It saw growth on Saturday and went slightly better on Sunday. The best part was that there was an organic growth on Saturday, by more than 50 per cent. As always, the Monday dip was expected but it has managed to remain in the Rs 5 crore range. One expects the film to remain the same all through the week. But with Navratri days and ‘garba’ nights taking over the country, the film may get affected as people may not prefer flocking much to cinemas.The decline might appear sharper than it truly is, largely because of Navratri kicking off and the lure of discounted Tuesday rates, both of which have dented Monday’s collections. A more accurate benchmark could be closer to 50%, though the real picture will emerge in the coming days. Still, when compared with how films like Sitaare Zameen Par and Raid 2 held up on their first Mondays, this performance is underwhelming, especially given the release timing, with tougher weeks of business lying ahead. The good part is, despite the dip on Monday, it saw growth on Tuesday and benefitted from the discounted ticket rates in most parts on that day. The Tuesday which is day 5 number is quite decent considering the ongoing Navratri festivities.The film made Rs 12.5 crore on day 1. On Saturday, it made Rs 20 crore and on Sunday it made Rs 21 crore. On Monday, it was expected that the movie will see a drop. It made Rs 5.5 crore on day 4. On tuesday, the collection according to Sacnilk is Rs 6.5 crore.
