Television personality Jeremy Clarkson recently opened up about taking his health more seriously than ever before. Reflecting on his recent health struggles, Clarkson said he wants to live as long as possible and is doing everything he can to improve his wellbeing.

Jeremy Clarkson, best known for his work on Clarkson’s Farm, Top Gear and Robot Wars, recently spoke about becoming more health-conscious. During an interview with The Times, the 65-year-old shared that becoming a grandfather has given him a new perspective on life and motivated him to take better care of himself.“I have decided that it is so wonderful that I want it to go on for as long as is humanly possible. Which means I must do everything in my power not to die,” Clarkson said.He added that his recent health issues have significantly changed his outlook on life and encouraged him to focus on maintaining his health for as long as possible.In 2017, Clarkson was admitted to hospital with pneumonia. In 2024, he experienced heart problems and later underwent a procedure to have a stent fitted to restore blood flow.Speaking about his lifestyle changes, Clarkson revealed that he has taken up Pilates, enjoys regular walks and even has a pickleball court at his home. “Eventually, I decided that organised indoor exercise was not for me and decided instead to do walking. Not when it’s raining, obviously. Or if it’s too cold or too hot. And not if I’m busy. But on a reasonably temperate Sunday morning, I’d get out there and pootle along,” he said.He added, “I’m buying time. It hurts and it’s expensive. But it’s better than wasting your money on a new watch.”

Clarkson also spoke about making significant changes to his diet and credited medication for helping him manage his appetite.He revealed that he takes microdoses of the GLP-1 medication Mounjaro to help control his food intake.“When you are on Mounjaro, you can come down in the morning and idly help yourself to a small handful of sunflower seeds,” Clarkson said. “And it’ll feel like you’ve just finished a massive Christmas lunch.
