'Jana Nayagan' OTT: Where to watch Vijay’s power-packed Pongal treat online after the theatrical run

Mark your calendars for January 9, 2026, as Thalapathy Vijay returns to the big screen in ‘Jana Nayagan’! Streaming rights have already been nabbed by Amazon Prime Video for after its theatrical run. Directed by the talented H Vinoth, the film has already made waves with its catchy first single, ‘Thalapathy Kacheri.

The wait is finally over for Thalapathy Vijay fans! The much-awaited Tamil action entertainer Jana Nayagan is all set for Jan 9. ‘Jana Nayagan’ OTT platform

Recently a new poster for the movie was unveiled by the makers and it shows that Amazon Prime Video has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights for the film. Initially planned for an October 2025 release, Jana Nayagan will now hit theatres worldwide on January 9, 2026. The release date will align with the festive Pongal weekend.

Thalapathy’s first collaboration with H Vinoth promises high-octane drama

‘Jana Nayagan’ marks the first-ever collaboration between Vijay and acclaimed filmmaker H Vinoth, known for his sharp writing and gritty storytelling. The film also features the actors Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Priyamani, Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, and Gautham Menon in pivotal roles.Rumors suggest that Jana Nayagan is a remake of the Telugu hit Bhagavanth Kesari, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna and the teaser which was unveiled earlier and the song ‘Thalapathy Kacheri’ also hints at the same. However, the makers have remained tight-lipped about the plot. The teaser hinted at Vijay’s return to a cop avatar.

‘Thalapathy Kacheri’ becomes an instant viral hit

Meanwhile, the film’s first single, titled Thalapathy Kacheri, dropped on the last day and has already taken the internet by storm. Composed by Anirudh Ravichander, the high-energy dance number features Vijay’s signature moves. Sung by Anirudh, Vijay, and rapper Arivu, the song is receiving decent reviews from the audiences. One fan wrote on social media, “” One Last Dance ” – Hits Hard.” Another fan wrote, “Blastu blastu thalapathy kacheri .”Meanwhile, Vijay’s previous outing was the Venkat Prabhu’s directorial ‘GOAT’ which unfortunately received mixed reviews from the audiences. Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj teamed up for the actioner ‘Leo’ which also received much criticisms for it’s second half.
