‘Ikkis’ Trailer: Agastya Nanda’s powerful portrayal of war hero

‘Ikkis’ Trailer: Agastya Nanda delivers a powerful portrayal of war hero Arun Khetarpal in Sriram Raghavan’s gripping drama

The much-awaited trailer of ‘Ikkis – The Untold True Story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal’ has finally dropped, and it is a powerful mix of patriotism, emotion and youthful determination. Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sriram Raghavan, the film stars Agastya Nanda in the lead role, bringing to life the story of one of India’s youngest war heroes.

Agastya Nanda shows a soldier’s promise in ‘Ikkis’ trailer

The trailer opens on an inspiring note, with Agastya’s character confidently declaring that the next Param Vir Chakra will be from his regiment. This powerful line sets the tone for what follows, a story of grit, courage and unwavering dedication.

‘Ikkis’ trailer highlights love amid the war chaos

Amid the tension of the Indo-Pak war, the trailer briefly touches upon Arun Khetarpal’s romantic journey. The soft and emotional moments give viewers a glimpse of the softer side of the soldier, a young man with dreams and love, caught in the middle of battle.

‘Ikkis’ showcases a mother’s courage and pride

One of the most moving parts of the trailer is when Arun tells his mother that he is heading to the battlefield. Instead of fear, she responds with courage, urging him to “fight with the courage of a lion.” This touching exchange captures the strength of Indian mothers who stand tall even when their children go to war. Adding another layer of emotion, veteran actor Dharmendra appears as Arun’s grandfather. His character narrates stories of valour from his own experiences, while young Arun listens with admiration and awe. These moments highlight how bravery and patriotism run deep within generations of a family devoted to the nation.

Jaideep Ahlawat honours Arun Khetarpal’s bravery

The trailer also introduces actor Jaideep Ahlawat who seems to play the role of a Pakistani army officer. In a surprising yet powerful moment, he acknowledges that Arun Khetarpal’s bravery and sacrifice are respected even in Pakistan.

‘Ikkis’ tells the untold story of Arun Khetarpal

‘Ikkis’ is based on the incredible true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. He was just 21 when he lost his life defending his country, becoming the youngest recipient of India’s highest military honour.

Agastya Nanda takes on his first major role

The film marks Agastya Nanda’s first theatrical release, making it a special milestone in his career. The young actor, who earlier made his debut in Zoya Akhtar’s OTT film ‘The Archies’ in 2023, steps into a completely different world this time, swapping high school drama for a real-life war story. ‘Ikkis’ will hit theatres in December 2025.
