'Haiwaan': Asrani confirms joining Priyadarshan's film starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan

With movies like ‘Hera Pheri,’ ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaan’ and more, Priyadarshan has carved his place in the landscape of Hindi cinema. With every new movie announcement, he adds to the audience’s excitement, and ‘Haiwaan’ starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan was no exception. Announced in July this year, the movie marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan after 17 years. Asrani confirms being a part of ‘Haiwaan’, shares shooting details

During his recent conversation with BBC Hindi, Asrani shared that he recently shot for one of Priyadarshan’s films, ‘Bhoot Bangla,’ which has Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, and more. He said the movie went on the floor earlier this year, and they travelled to Hyderabad for shooting. The veteran actor continued saying that he has collaborated with Priyadarshan in several films over the years, and will soon be shooting for his next, titled ‘Haiwaan’, in September. “Abhi shooting September mein shuru ho rahi hai. Film ka naam hai Haiwan. Priyadarshan director hai (The shooting is starting in September. The film is called Haiwaan, and it’s directed by Priyadarshan),” he exclaimed.For the unversed, Asrani and Priyadarshan have a very strong, longstanding bond. The actor worked with him on several projects, including ‘Hera Pheri,’ ‘Hulchul,’ ‘Malamaal Weekly,’ ‘Bhagam Bhag,’ and more.

Meanwhile, the shooting of the movie has started a couple of days early. Akshay Kumar took to his social media handle to share the update “Hum sab hi hain thode se shaitaan…Koi upar se Saint, koi andar se Haiwaan :)) Starting the shoot for #Haiwaan today with my absolute favourite captain of the ship, @priyadarshan.official Sir. Great to be working with Saif after nearly 18 years. Further, reportedly, ‘Haiwaan’ is a Hindi remake of the 2016 Malayalam film ‘Oppam,’ which had Mohanlal in the lead.
