‘Gustaakh Ishq’ sees further DROP on day 3

‘Gustaakh Ishq’ box office collection day 3: Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh’s starrer sees a further DROP, while Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ collects over Rs 50 crore

Directed by Vibhu Puri, ‘Gustaakh Ishq’, starring Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh, was released this Friday, November 8, 2025. Set in the 1990s, the movie exudes an old-world charm, its story beautifully wrapped in poetry and nostalgia. However, for some reason, it appears the film has failed to leave a mark on the audience. Since day 2, ‘Gustaakh Ishq’ has been seeing a dip in the numbers, and day 3 saw nothing different. On the other hand, Dhanush and Kriti Sanon starrer ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ has crossed over Rs 50 crore on the opening weekend.

‘Gustaakh Ishq’ box office collection day 3

According to early estimates from Sacnilk, ‘Gustaakh Ishq’ opened with Rs 50 lakhs on November 28. On day 2, with a fall of 10 per cent, it went down to Rs 45 lakhs. Now with another big drop, on Sunday, day 3, it collected Rs 21 crore, as per the early estimates, in the domestic market. The total collection of ‘Gustaakh Ishq’ stands at Rs 1.16 crore.

‘Gustaakh Ishq’ day 3 occupancy

On Sunday, November 30, 2025, ‘Gustaakh Ishq’ recorded an overall occupancy of 9.06%, while on Saturday, the rate of 10.24%. Breaking it down further, the morning was slow with only 4.49% occupancy, while in the afternoon the stats rose to went up to 9.53%. The evening and night shows witnessed 8.96% and 13.26% occupancy, respectively.

Competition from ‘Tere Ishq Mein’

As aforesaid, the Aanand L Rai starrer ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ released on the same day. According to the trade site, the film made Rs 18.75 crore on Sunday, taking its total after the opening weekend to Rs 51.75 crore.

‘Gustaakh Ishq’ review

“In an era dominated by loud action films and formula-heavy horror comedies, ‘Gustaakh Ishq’ feels like a breath of fresh air. It nudges your attention back to people, conversations, and small emotions. The exchanges between Nawabuddin and Aziz form the quiet backbone of the film, and the shayari recited by Shah—written by Ashok Singh Mizaz—adds to its lingering appeal. There is real pleasure in watching Shah and Varma share the frame as mentor and student. Yet, for a film rooted in both drama and romance, the two never fully bloom. The interval point, meant to be a turning point, passes without leaving much of a mark. The love story between Nawabuddin and Minni unfolds so subtly that it often feels like an afterthought. The film means well and sets the right mood, but the screenplay rarely finds the sharp emotional peaks it so clearly reaches for,” reads an excerpt from our review of the movie.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers in this article are compiled from our proprietary sources and diverse public data.
