George Clooney will NOT KISS actresses again – Here’s Why

George Clooney will NOT KISS actresses again! Hollywood star to step away from on-screen romances after talk with wife Amal Clooney

George Clooney will not kiss in film roles

He even cited an example of Hollywood legend Paul Newman, who went the same route. “I’ve been trying to go the route Paul Newman did, ‘Okay, well, I’m not kissing a girl anymore,’” the actor said.Clooney revealed that when he turned 60, it sparked a discussion with his wife saying, “‘Look, I can still play basketball with the boys. I play with 25-year-old guys. I can still hang, I’m in shape’. But in 25 years, I’m 85 years old. It doesn’t matter how many granola bars you eat, that’s a real number.”

George Clooney hints at opting out of romantic films

The actor previously hinted at this shift in his career choices in an interview with 60 Minutes, saying that he was consciously stepping away from romantic films. “I’m not trying to compete with 25-year-old leading men. That’s not my job. I’m not doing romantic films anymore,” he said. Previously, sharing his frustration about shooting for kissing scenes in films, he recalled in a 2022 interview with The New York Times, “I remember early on in my career, I had to do a kissing scene with this girl and the director goes, ‘Not like that’, and I was like, ‘Dude, that’s my move! That’s what I do in real life!'”

About Paul Newman’s no kissing clause

Paul Newman was famously offered a romantic role in ‘Pocket Money’, where the director proposed a love scene with the female lead. However, Newman immediately declined saying, “I won’t do it. If I can’t do it with Joanne (Woodward), I won’t do it with anyone.” From then on, Newman made his resolve never to kiss another actress or engage in romantic scenes with anyone other than his wife, regardless of the script or studio pressure.
