It’s time to travel back to Middle-earth once again, and this time around, we’ll have some familiar faces joining this epic journey. Hollywood legend, Ian McKellen on Sunday, teased fans about the return of Gandalf and Frodo in the upcoming ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum’.

Gandalf and Frodo’s Return

The revelation came during McKellen’s appearance at the For the Love of Fantasy fan event in London. In videos doing the rounds from the event, the actor took over the microphone to tease fans saying, “I hear there’s going to be another movie based in Middle-earth.” Revealing production details, he added, “it’s going to start filming in May. It’s going to be directed by Gollum (Andy Serkis), and it’s all about Gollum.”McKellen then went on to drop the biggest surprise of the event by saying, “I’ll tell you two secrets about the casting: There’s a character in the movie called Frodo, and there’s a character in the movie called Gandalf.” When pressed for more details, the actor quipped, “Apart from that, my lips are sealed.”

LOTR Cast Reunites

Though the actor stopped short of confirming whether fellow actor Elijah Wood would reprise his role, Wood was in attendance at the event. The ‘LOTR’ cast also had a mini-reunion at the event, with franchise stars Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan, Billy Boyd, and John Rhys-Davies also joining the event.
