Production on ‘Man of Tomorrow’, the highly anticipated sequel to ‘Superman’, is officially underway, with new set photos and videos from the film sets taking social media by storm.Fans on Tuesday, not only got their first glimpse of David Corenswet as Superman, but also of Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Footage captured by fans on location, saw Corenswet filming an action sequence in the middle of a city street. In one widely shared video, the actor can be seen suspended by a crane while shooting what appears to be a flying scene.Additional clips from the set showed members of the stunt team rehearsing the action choreography before cast members arrived on the sets of the upcoming DC Studios film.

James Gunn unveils Lex Luthor first look

The leaked images arrived shortly after writer-director James Gunn shared the first look at Lex Luthor’s iconic warsuit. “Fit check. Live from the set of ‘Man of Tomorrow,'” Gunn wrote alongside the image.In DC Comics lore, Lex Luthor’s warsuit is said to be one of the villain’s most formidable weapons, designed to allow the billionaire mastermind to physically take on Superman. The armour grants Luthor enhanced strength, flight capabilities and other superhuman abilities.

Superman and Lex Luthor face a new threat

According to reports, ‘Man of Tomorrow’ will see Corenswet’s Superman and Hoult’s Lex Luthor reluctantly joining forces against one of the hero’s most dangerous adversaries – Brainiac. The iconic DC villain, set to be portrayed by Lars Eidinger, is expected to serve as the film’s primary antagonist as is often regarded as one of Superman’s greatest foes.

‘Man of Tomorrow’ cast

Several key cast members from Superman are set to return for the follow-up. Rachel Brosnahan will reprise her role as Lois Lane, while Skyler Gisondo returns as Jimmy Olsen. Sara Sampaio is back as Eve Teschmacher, alongside Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner and Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific.Milly Alcock, who made a brief appearance as Kara Zor-El in the first film, will also return after leading DC Studios’ upcoming Supergirl feature.The sequel will additionally introduce Aaron Pierre’s John Stewart to the big screen following the character’s debut in HBO Max’s Lanterns series.
