Farida Jalal blesses Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan ahead of directorial debut with The Ba***ds of Bollywood: 'Bahot sari duaein unke liye'

Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan is all set to step into the director’s chair with Netflix’s upcoming series The Ba***ds of Bollywood. The preview of the show was unveiled last week at a grand launch event in Mumbai, drawing huge attention. Since then, industry veterans and stars have showered Aryan with praise and good wishes.

Farida Jalal recalls DDLJ sets, blesses Aryan

At the trailer launch of Love In Vietnam on Monday, veteran actress Farida Jalal, who played Kajol’s mother in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, was asked if Aryan ever visited the film’s sets as a child. Smiling fondly, she said, “Bahot sari duaein unke liye. Haan, set pe bhi the, bahot chhote se the, nanhe-munne se. I feel very proud of the fact ke woh khud ek director bane hain aaj. Allah kaamyaab kare, meri dua hai.” (Many blessings for him. Yes, he had come on the sets too, he was very little, just a small child. I feel very proud that he has become a director today. May Allah grant him success, that’s my prayer.) Actor Sunny Deol also took to social media over the weekend to extend his support. Lauding Aryan for his maiden project, Sunny revealed that his brother Bobby Deol, who plays a key role in the series, was impressed by Aryan’s working style. Sunny further wrote that Shah Rukh Khan must be feeling “extremely proud as a father” seeing Aryan embark on this journey.

Aryan admits nerves at launch event

During the launch of the show’s first look, Aryan Khan engaged in light banter with the media and admitted he was nervous addressing them for the first time. He shared that he had “covered all corners” to prepare for the big day.Shah Rukh Khan, meanwhile, perfectly played the proud father as he introduced the star-studded cast in his trademark witty style.

The series features Lakshya, Bobby Deol, Sahher Bambba, Mona Singh, Raghav Juyal, Manoj Pahwa, Manish Chaudhari, Anya Singh, Vijayant Kohli, Gautami Kapoor, and Rajat Bedi. Adding to the excitement, Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh, and Salman Khan will make cameo appearances.Produced under Aryan’s directorial vision, The Ba***ds of Bollywood will premiere on Netflix on September 18, 2025.
