Farhan confirms Jee Le Zaraa headlining Priyanka, Alia and Katrina

Farhan Akhtar confirms ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ headlining Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif back on track - Reports

Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ starring Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Katrina Kaif is alive after delays caused by scheduling conflicts and casting. Personal milestones of the actresses are settled. Production will start soon. Priyanka inspired the female-driven film celebrating friendship, completed after 3 years of schedule alignment.

Back in 2021, Farhan Akhtar announced ‘Jee Le Zaraa’, an exciting women-led adventure flick featuring Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif on a thrilling road journey. Fans buzzed with anticipation, but whispers of postponements from clashing dates led to rumors of the project being scrapped altogether. Now, Farhan has put those fears to rest, declaring the film is very much alive, though currently paused due to prior hurdles with schedules.

Scheduling challenges and casting hurdles slow progress

According to Deccan Chronicle, ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ starring Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif is back on track after overcoming numerous hurdles. The main challenge was aligning the busy schedules of the three leading ladies, with Chopra’s international commitments causing the most significant delay. Additionally, Farhan, along with co-writers Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, faced difficulties casting male co-stars who could match the caliber of the female leads, further slowing progress. Despite these setbacks, the project is now moving forward as planned.

Actresses’ personal milestones settled

In the past few years, the actresses have experienced significant changes in their personal lives. Katrina became a mother to a baby boy in November 2025, while Alia’s daughter Raha arrived in 2022. Priyanka is also a mother to her daughter Malti Marie, born in 2022. Now that these personal developments are settled, the production of ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ has regained momentum. As reported in News18, Farhan confirmed that filming will start soon and shared, “To be honest, it was traumatic trying to get the actors’ dates. But we’ve sorted all that out. We’ll start soon.”

Priyanka Chopra’s inspiration for ‘Jee Le Zaraa’

Back in 2021, when Priyanka announced the film ‘Jee Le Zaraa’, she shared a heartfelt message that said, “Let’s rewind, to me musing about wanting to do another Hindi movie ASAP, on an unusually rainy night in Mumbai in Nov 2019. But it had to be the right one – different, cool, never been done before… I thought. The idea grew into a movie helmed by an all-female cast. There are not enough Hindi movies that are female multi-starrers. This led to an impulsive phone call… to my 2 real friends about this idea that involved 3 on-screen girlfriends. A celebration of friendship we called it!”

The trio’s bond and trust in the creative team

“Katrina, Alia, and I enthusiastically met in February 2020 (as seen in this picture), just before the world shut down, to discuss who we could trust to bring this vision to life for us and our choice was unanimous… Farhan and Ritesh, Zoya and Reema. We had all worked with @excelmovies and @tigerbabyfilms individually so this seemed perfect. It just so happened that Farhan was working on a female road trip movie at the same time! Talk about all the stars aligning! And here we are today… #JeeLeZaraa… it only took 3 years to align all our schedules but we stuck together and got it done! This one is to sisterhood… to friendship and to breaking the mould! Can’t wait to get on the road with Aloo and Katty. My heart’s smiling. See you at the movies,” she wrote. Go to Source
