Farah recalls ditching SRK’s performance to meet Michael Jackson

Farah Khan recalls ditching Shah Rukh Khan's performance to meet Michael Jackson: 'He said,

Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan has never hidden her admiration for the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson. But when she finally came face-to-face with her idol, even the usually outspoken filmmaker found herself at a loss for words. In her latest YouTube vlog, Farah revisited the unforgettable moment and shared details of her brief interaction with the global music icon, revealing how she abandoned everything else just to meet him.

‘To hell with the performance, Michael Jackson is coming’

Farah recently visited dancer and actress Shruti Sinha to celebrate the success of her series Campus Beats. Actor Shantanu Maheshwari was also part of the vlog. During their conversation, Shruti spoke about training in ballet for eight years in Delhi, prompting Farah to talk about her lifelong admiration for Michael Jackson. When Shantanu pointed out that Farah is among the few Indians who have met the legendary singer, the filmmaker immediately launched into the story.Recalling the incident, Farah said, “Shah Rukh was performing, and I had gone to choreograph for Shah Rukh, Aishwarya and all. That event sponsor told me Michael Jackson may come as the chief guest.”She continued, “Suddenly main wings mein khadi hoon aur Shah Rukh ka performance aaraha hai and sponsor said Michael Jackson aaraha hai….I was going, and the sponsor said but ma’am, your performance? I said bhaad mein jaaye. Shah Rukh rahega ghar jaayenge toh.”

‘I’m still getting goosebumps’

Farah revealed that she was taken to Michael Jackson’s room moments before meeting him and vividly remembers the atmosphere.”They took me to his room, and it was completely dark because he didn’t like bright lights and all. He was sitting in dim lights, and I am still getting goosebumps telling this,” she recalled.Describing their interaction, Farah added, “So soft spoken, he asked me, ‘What’s your name?’ and I said Farah Khan. He said, ‘such a powerful name’, and I then clicked a photo with him standing still, and then later cropped out the sponsors.”The cherished photograph remains one of Farah’s most treasured memories of meeting her idol.

Farah defended Michael Jackson biopic earlier this year

Earlier this year, when the Michael Jackson biopic generated mixed reactions from critics, Farah publicly came out in support of the film. Sharing a photograph with the late pop star on social media, she wrote, “Point to be noted… critics are morons in every country! Go watch Michael! and someone please give Jaafar Jackson the Oscar next year.”

What’s next for Farah Khan?

While Farah has been actively focusing on her YouTube channel and recently celebrated receiving her Gold Play Button, she has also been preparing for her next directorial project. The filmmaker recently revealed that she plans to begin work on her next film by the end of the year. According to Farah, she hopes to collaborate once again with Shah Rukh Khan and is willing to wait until the superstar can allocate dates for the project. Go to Source
