Fans upset over poor facilities at Ilaiyaraaja concert

Ilaiyaraaja's Chennai concert sparks fan outrage over poor stadium arrangements despite historical performance: 'Couldn't hear'

A section of fans were left disappointed with the arrangements of musical maestro Ilaiyaraaja’s Chennai concert at the Nehru Outdoor Stadium. Several internet users took to social media and shared their experiences after attending the concert.During the two day event, veteran musician Ilaiyaraaja gave his fans a delightful musical experience where he presented his first ever symphony, Valiant on Sunday. It was later followed by a concert that lasted for nearly three and a half hours. Thousands of fans gathered at the venue to watch the legendary composer perform live.

Fans point out several problems

While many enjoyed listening and watching him live, some audience members were left complaining about the event’s arrangements. On the internet fans shared that no volunteers were seen in proper uniforms to guide people inside the stadium. They also called the small LED screens and poor sound quality insufficient to cater to the huge crowd present, affecting the overall experience. Attendees also added that they couldn’t even hear or understand Ilaiyaraaja’s words.

Complaints about seats and food

Some users also claimed that some seats were very dirty and the venue’s maintenance should have been better before such a major event. Apart from this, some visitors also complained about the high prices of food and refreshments sold at the stadium.

Ilaiyaraaja performed several hits

Despite several complaints, a large number of people also praised Ilaiyaraaja for his magical performance. Fans appreciated that his music turned out to be a special experience.Speaking of the concert, it started with the devotional song ‘Janani Janani’ and featured a long list of popular hits from his career. These include ‘Madai Thirandhu,’ ‘Aanandha Ragam,’ ‘Megam Kottatum,’ ‘Raakama Kaiyathattu,’ ‘Raja Raja Chozhan Naan,’ and many others. The evening ended with ‘En Jodi Manja Kuruvi,’ bringing the musical celebration to a memorable close.
