Expert says Prince William’s children know about Harry rift

Prince William’s children are “undoubtedly aware” of Prince Harry family tensions, expert claims

Prince William’s three children are almost certainly aware of the fractured relationship between their father and uncle Prince Harry, according to a royal expert. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has weighed in on how Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, given their ages, are likely processing the tensions that have defined the Sussex situation in recent years. The comments come amid ongoing reports that William and Harry have not spoken in over three years, with the rift between the brothers showing no signs of closing.According to the Daily Express, Fitzwilliams said the children would undoubtedly be aware of the situation. “They would subsequently undoubtedly be aware of Harry and are likely to know or have read that there are serious problems when it comes to their uncle, not to mention aunt Meghan,” he told the outlet. “We understand that William has not spoken to Harry for over three years and that the rift remains deep.”

What the expert said about how the children may be navigating the situation

Fitzwilliams noted that the children were very young when Harry and Meghan stepped back as senior working royals in early 2020, with George, Charlotte and Louis being six, four and one respectively at the time. Despite their young ages then, they are now old enough to have formed their own understanding of the situation. “When one is very young and is aware there are family problems, there are subjects it is simply not tactful to bring up,” he said. “The subject of uncle Harry may well be one of them.”He also acknowledged that the children likely carry fond memories of their uncle. “I think it is probably impossible to be unaware of him. He is, as we see when he participates in certain charitable events, famously good with children,” Fitzwilliams noted.

The impact on cousins Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet

Beyond the relationship between the Wales children and their uncle, sources suggest Harry is deeply aware that his own children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are growing up without the extended family network their cousins enjoy. “Archie and Lili are having a lovely time in California, but Harry is very sad that they are missing out on life with the rest of their family,” a source told the Daily Mail. “Harry feels his children are missing out on the extensive family network that their cousins are enjoying,” the insider added.King Charles III has also had limited time with Archie and Lilibet in the years since Harry and Meghan relocated to America. “From Charles’s perspective, this is about repairing a relationship with Harry and building a relationship with his grandchildren,” a source told the Examiner. “He’s highly motivated in that sense.”

William’s reported fury over Prince Harry’s comments

Tensions have reportedly been further inflamed after Harry publicly claimed he was concerned about his niece and youngest nephew playing second fiddle to their older brother. An insider told In Touch that William was furious at the suggestion. “William is ferociously protective of his wife and kids, even the whiff of Harry dragging them into his woe-is-me narrative gets his hackles up,” the source said.Reports have also suggested Harry and Meghan have complained about their children not receiving the same advantages as their cousins, something that is said to have further aggravated the Prince of Wales. “Hearing that his brother has been complaining about his kids getting more access to family perks really set William off,” an insider said. “Harry only has himself to blame for the situation. They’re in for a rude awakening if they think William will stand back and let them drag his wife and their children into their chaos.” Go to Source
