Esha and Bharat’s divorce made Dharmendra sad

Esha Deol’s divorce from Bharat Takhtani made Dharmendra ‘sad’; wanted them to ‘reconsider’ for the sake of their kids

Esha Deol took everyone by surprise in February 2024 when she announced her separation from husband Bharat Takhtani, ending 11 years of marriage. Fans were left shocked, and while the couple remained graceful in their joint statement, reports revealed that her father, veteran actor Dharmendra, was struggling with the news.

Dharmendra was reportedly saddened by daughter’s separation

Known for his deep love for his family, Dharmendra was reportedly ‘sad’ and hoped his daughter and her husband might reconsider their decision.Back then a Bollywood Life report revealed, “No parents can be happy seeing their children’s family being broken. Even Dharmendra ji is a father and one can understand his pain. It’s not that he is against his daughter’s decision to get separated but what’s her to rethink over it.”The veteran actor’s sadness was not about opposing Esha’s choice but about the emotional impact the separation could have, particularly on the children.

Concern for grandchildren’s emotional well-being

Esha and Bharat are parents to two daughters, Radhya and Miraya, who share a close bond with both their maternal and paternal grandparents. The report further explained, “He is indeed sad, and that’s the reason he wants them to reconsider getting separated. Esha and Bharat have two daughters, Radhya and Miraya. They are very close to their grandparents, paternal and maternal. Separation affects the kids badly and hence Dharamji feels if the marriage can be saved they should.”

Couple had revealed it was mutual and amicable decision

While Dharmendra and the family were feeling the pain of separation, Esha and Bharat chose to handle it with grace. They released a joint statement confirming that their decision was mutually and amicably made. They released a joint statement to share the news with their fans, “We have mutually & amicably decided to part ways. Through this shift in our lives, the best interests and welfare of our two children is and will be of utmost importance to us. We would appreciate that our privacy is respected throughout.
