Emma Watson makes rare public appearence at public event for wildlife conservation

After achieving fame with the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise and starring in several other films, Emma Watson has largely remained out of the public eye. The actress mostly keeps away from her social media accounts and prefers to avoid the paparazzi. However, in a recent turn of events, the star made an appearance at a public event alongside other celebrities, including Benedict Cumberbatch and Prince William.

Emma Watson’s rare public appearance

Emma Watson, according to PEOPLE reports, was present at the Royal Foundation’s United for Wildlife business forum. The event was held on Monday and attended by a diverse group of people. At the forum, Watson was one of many invited on stage to speak about the matter at hand.United for Wildlife also shared photos from the evening on their Instagram page, including glimpses of Watson alongside ‘The Roses’ actor and Prince William. The post’s caption read that the event was for “a conversation about the natural world and our shared responsibility to protect it.”Watson gave a speech after being invited on stage at the event. She said, “Storytelling is really powerful, and the story that you tell as a brand, and the transparency you have and the way that you talk around these issues, it matters. It matters to young people.” A video of her speech, as well as those by Prince William and Benedict Cumberbatch, was also shared on the same account. The actress also posted about the events on her account. Sharing photos from the event, she wrote, “Wildlife trafficking is the tip of a very exploitative iceberg. It can be the canary in the coal mine for an industry that does tremendous harm (but therefore has an opportunity to make a tremendous impact) for both people and the planet!”

Emma Watson recalls mistaking the paparazzi for being there for her

The actress also recalled a hilarious incident during her speech when she thought many people with cameras were waiting for her near her residence. She stated, “And I thought, ‘Today’s the day. It’s happened, oh my goodness.’ So, [someone] went outside to address them and their long lenses and I snuck out to go another way, and it turned out that the men with the long lenses were actually not there for me, at all. They were there for a very rare bird, which is called a red kite. And they were trying to, basically, break into my back garden because they thought that one of these red kites was in our backyard.”Over the years, Watson has consistently made philanthropic efforts and used her voice to provide a stage to those who need it.
