Harshvardhan Rane’s ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ released in cinemas along with Ayushmann Khurrana starrer ‘Thamma’ on Diwali. Despite the clash, EDKD has managed to make a good impact at the box office. It released in three times lesser screens than ‘Thamma’ and yet by the end of day 13, which was second Sunday, the film managed to cross Rs 60 crore at the box office in India. The good part is that on its second weekend, ‘Ek Deewane…’ managed to remain steady despite an influx of releases on Friday which are competing at the box office. One saw the release of SS Rajamouli’s Prabhas starrer ‘Baaubali: The Epic’ on Friday, October 31. The film has been doing well upon its re-release and crossed Rs 24 crore over the weekend. Meanwhile, ‘The Taj Story’ also released. But ‘Thamma’ has brought in the maximum numbers followed by ‘EDKD’. After making Rs. 55.15 crore over the first week, it made Rs 2.35 crore on second Friday saw growth on Saturday, thus making Rs 3.15 crore. It saw some more growth on Sunday and made Rs 3.75 crore. The total collection is now Rs 64.40 crore. Meanwhile, ‘The Taj Story’ collected Rs 5.11 crore over the first weekend in three days.
