After her turn in the horror-comedy universe with ‘Stree’, Shraddha Kapoor is all set to portray the legendary Marathi folk artist Vithabai Narayangaonkar in an upcoming biopic titled ‘Eetha’, directed by Laxman Utekar. The film will delve into the life and legacy of the “Tamasha Samradini” (Empress of Tamasha), celebrating her remarkable journey in the world of folk theatre. As per recent reports, Randeep Hooda has now joined the cast as the male lead.
Randeep Hooda joins Shraddha Kapoor in ‘Eetha’
According to a report by Pinkvilla, the makers of Eetha have finalised Hooda to play the lead role opposite Kapoor. The shoot is expected to commence at the end of November in Mumbai. “Randeep plays the romantic lead opposite Shraddha…the makers are extremely confident about the casting, as both Randeep and Shraddha bring depth and versatility that fit perfectly with Utekar’s vision,” the source told the portal.

The film’s shoot began in early November 2025 and includes talented artists from both the Hindi and Marathi film industries to preserve its cultural essence.Directed by Laxman Utekar, known for his realistic and heartfelt storytelling, ‘Eetha’ promises an authentic depiction of Maharashtra’s rich folk heritage. Utekar’s last successful film was ‘Chhaava’, starring Vicky Kaushal.
