‘Dies Irae’ box office collections day 9: Film crosses Rs 30 crores

'Dies Irae' box office collections day 9: Pranav Mohanlal’s film holds strong; crosses Rs 30 crore milestone

Pranav Mohanlal’s latest horror-thriller, ‘Dies Irae,’ has taken the Indian box office by storm, surpassing an impressive Rs 30 crore milestone. The film’s intriguing combination of suspense and deep emotional storytelling resonated with audiences, allowing it to sustain robust ticket sales into its second week. Recent updates indicate a strong Rs 3.

‘Dies Irae’, the latest Malayalam horror-thriller directed by Rahul Sadasivan and starring Pranav Mohanlal, continues its strong theatrical run. The film has maintained impressive momentum even in its second week, crossing the Rs 30 crore mark in India. According to early estimates from the Sacnilk website, ‘Dies Irae’ earned Rs 3.50 crore on its ninth day, taking its total to Rs 31.95 crore net across all languages. The movie recorded a healthy 38.39% Malayalam occupancy on Saturday, November 8, 2025 . The night shows for the film peaked above 50 percentage on the day.Now the first week total India collections for the movie stand at Rs 26.45 crores. The day 8 collection stand at Rs 2 crore and day 9 stood at Rs 3.50 crores (early estimates).Director Rahul Sadasivan, known for his work in ‘Bhoothakaalam’ and ‘Bramayugam’, once again strikes a balance between atmospheric tension and human vulnerability in ‘Dies Irae’.According to ETimes, “In a horror film, writing emotion may often feel forced, but here, it works beautifully. The apology, and the way Rohan grows out of his privileged mould to offer a hand, are two poignant moments.”Our review also notes, “The elements of shared delusion — often seen between co-dependent family members — and the signs of insanity make the film more of a horror story with psychological, mystery, and thriller aspects woven in. There are a few scenes that contain foreshadowing — the close shot of the buffalo and the eeriness that follows before the beginning of the final arc.”On the other hand, Pranav Mohanlal’s previous outing was the Vineeth Sreenivasan’s directorial feel-good drama film ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’. Although the film received mixed reviews, it did a good box office business.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers in this article are compiled from our proprietary sources and diverse public data.
