Dharmendra Prayer Meet Live Updates

Bollywood lost one of its most cherished stars on November 24, 2025, when legendary actor Dharmendra, fondly known as the industry’s ‘He-Man’, passed away. Known for his gentle smile, warm heart, and timeless charm, Dharmendra left behind a legacy that shaped generations of cinema lovers.

Details of Dharmendra’s prayer meet
To honour his life, his family organised a prayer meet on Thursday, November 27, at Taj Lands End in Bandra. Called the ‘Celebration of Life’, the event ran from 5 pm to 7.30 pm on the hotel lawns. Fans and members of the film industry gathered to pay their last tributes to the veteran star.

Hema Malini shares emotional tribute

On the day of the prayer meet, Hema Malini shared a heartfelt note on social media, describing Dharmendra as everything to her. She expressed that he had been a loving husband, a devoted father to their two daughters, Esha and Ahana, a friend, philosopher, guide, poet, and her ‘go-to’ person in all times of need. She said that he had always been everything to her through both good and bad times. Hema also mentioned that Dharmendra had formed deep bonds with everyone around her, endearing himself to all her family members with his friendly and affectionate ways, always showing interest in them.

Bollywood celebs visit Deol family to extend support in difficult times
Dharmendra’s last rites were held on November 24 and attended only by family members and some industry colleagues. In the following days, several Bollywood celebrities visited to pay their respects, including Vicky Kaushal, Hrithik Roshan, Rakesh Roshan, Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Aaryan Khan, and veteran actress Asha Parekh.

Dharmendra is survived by his wife Hema Malini, his first wife Prakash Kaur, and his six children, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Esha Deol, Ahana Deol, Ajeeta, and Vijeta.

Dharmendra’s long and remarkable career
Hailed as Bollywood’s ‘He-Man’, Dharmendra had a career spanning over six decades. Even in his late 80s, he remained active in films. His recent appearances included Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ and Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’.

Fans will also get to see Dharmendra’s final performance posthumously in Sriram Raghavan’s ‘Ikkis’, starring Agastya Nanda, which is scheduled to release on 25 December.
