‘De De Pyaar De 2’ box office collection day 14

'De De Pyaar De 2' box office collection day 14: The Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Rakul Preet Singh starrer mints Rs 67.60 crore by the end of second week, slows down as 'Tere Ishk Mein' releases

Ajay Devgn’s ‘De De Pyaar De 2’, which is a sequel to the first part released in 2019, has been putting up a steady, though not spectacular show at the box office. While it has now completed two weeks since its release, last week one saw two new films clashing at the box office – ‘120 Bahadur’ and ‘Masti 4’ but the performce of both the movies has remained dull and ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ continued to dominate at the box office. Though, it is still less likely that the movie will cross the Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic box office. The film opened to approximately Rs 8.75 crore, and while its first Saturday and Sunday numbers reflected an upward trend, many within the trade expected a sharper spike fuelled by stronger audience chatter. Going by the current trend and the way it has slow down, it is less likely that the film will even touch the Rs 100 crore mark in India, which is not good considering the fact that this was a known romcom franchise. The movie wrapped up its first week with Rs 51.1 crore. Moving into the second weekend, it recorded Rs 2.25 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 4 crore on Saturday and Rs 4.50 crore on Sunday. These day 9 and 10 earnings enabled the sequel to surpass the opening-weekend tallies of both 120 Bahadur and Masti 4. As is typical, Monday saw a dip with Rs 1.50 crore, after which Tuesday nudged up slightly to Rs 1.75 crore. On Wednesday, the film slipped further to Rs 1.25 crore. On Thursday, day 14, it has made Rs 1.25 crore, taking its domestic total to around Rs 67.60 crore. Now today, Friday, one sees the release of Dhanush, Kriti Sanon starrer ‘Tere Ishk Mein’. There has been a good amount of advance booking for the film so far and thus, ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ has now begun to slow down. From Friday onwards, the numbers for this Ajay Devgn starrer, ‘120 Bahadur’ and ‘Masti 4’ can further be expected to see a drop.
