Daniel Radcliffe, once indifferent to his health, has embraced a rigorous fitness routine, including gym sessions and early mornings dictated by his young son. The “Harry Potter” star, who has been sober since 2012, candidly shared his past struggles with alcohol and his transformation into a dedicated fitness enthusiast, highlighting a significant shift in his lifestyle and well-being.

Daniel Radcliffe, who started in the entertainment industry as a child actor with the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise, has faced many ups and downs. In a recent appearance, the star opened up about his health issues and how he transformed from someone who did not care about their body into a fitness freak.Here is what he had to share.

“I feel like I’m a cliché of a former alcoholic”, Radcliffe commented, while talking to WSJ. Magazine about his health. The star shared that at one point in his life, he did not care for his health at all. Further adding on, he revealed, “I used to run on coffee and cigarettes all day, and then I gave up smoking. Now I just run on coffee all day.”

He also touched upon the fact that he now prioritizes his health a lot more. He revealed that he regularly goes to the gym. “I do weights, circuit training, cardio. I don’t look like a person who would be a fitness freak, but I’m pretty intense about it,” he further added, sharing that he has managed to transform himself; however, it has been a very long journey. He also added on about how having a small child at home has also helped in refining his routine. The actor revealed that he often has to get up at 5 in the morning because of his child. Adding more context to the matter, he revealed, “my body has trained to wake up at about 5:30. My son has a night-light where you can program it to turn a different color at a certain time, so at 6:30 it will flick from blue to yellow and I will hear him scream, ‘It’s yellow, COME GET ME!’”

Daniel Radcliffe has also struggled with alcohol as well, and has been open about his journey and sobriety since 2012. He added more context to his alcoholism while talking to Playboy in an old interview. He joked, “Anytime I’d go out to dance, camera phones would come out. That would make me very self-conscious, and what’s the easiest way to escape being self-conscious? Alcohol is a quick way of doing that.” Go to Source
