After many years of success, including a Grammy award, Hinds departed from the band this year. Initially, he announced the separation in a friendly joint statement, but later claimed he was removed from the group and criticized his former bandmates. An Alabama native, Hinds originally played the banjo. Later, he traded it in for the electric guitar-heavy amp setup.
