5 to 6 days ago, while Lionel Richie was on his 26-show-long North American tour, he cut his concert short due to health concerns. While the singer was reportedly hospitalized at the time, no other updates about the musician have been shared since then. Now, ex-wife Brenda Harvey Richie recently took to her social media account to share an update on the veteran singer’s current condition.

The singer’s ex-wife, Brenda Harvey Richie, recently took to her X account to share an update about his health and how everything has been going for him. She wrote in her post, “Thanking everyone for their concern! Lionel is OK and will be back on the stage.” This short update is the first information released online about the legend after he collapsed during his show a few days ago.

What happened to Lionel Richie

Videos of the singer went viral a few days ago as he was performing at the St. Paul’s Grand Casino Arena. At first, Richie was shown sitting down on the stairs and performing after feeling a little dizzy during his performance. He also told the crowd the same, saying, “What I have learned about my years of being in the business: When you are feeling dizzy, sit your ass down. And when you are feeling strange about yourself, sit your ass down!”He then joked about the situation, “Now, I want you to know that’s the first time in the history of ‘Dancing on the Ceiling’ I’ve done it sitting down. That’s a bad sign, y’all.” Later on, he went on an early intermission, which was followed by saxophone player Dino Soldo walking up on stage and announcing that due to health issues Richie would not be able to return on stage.Later on, his management agency stated on the website that the upcoming tour dates would be postponed to care for the singer’s health. The statement further read, “Under advisement by doctors to rest and return to full health, Lionel Richie has postponed his next two shows on Friday, June 26 in Chicago, IL and Saturday, June 27 in Columbus, OH. He and Earth, Wind & Fire will return to the stage on Tuesday, June 30 in Pittsburgh, PA.”Lionel Richie has been on his ongoing North American tour ‘Earth, Wind & Fire.’ Go to Source
