‘Border 2’, starring Sunny Deol in the lead, is gearing up to set the Republic Day box office on fire with its extended run this coming weekend. As per reports, the film has been raking in the big bucks even before its relaese. The film has already raked in an impressive advane box office collection with a day still to go before the movie arrives in cinemas on January 23. The patriotic film, reportedly positioned as a sequel to J.P. Dutta’s 1997 blockbuster ‘Border’, has recorded an impressive advance booking.According to early box office reports on Sacnilk, ‘Border 2’ has already grossed an estimated Rs 5.65 crore in advance bookings. The film has earned this total from just its 2D shows. The film is also expected to release in Dolby and 4DX formats, which are also expected to help boost its box office total. Meanwhile, the film has already reported a sale of 1.75 lakh in ticket sales across a total of 13,585 shows.As per the report, the film is looking to start its run with a double digit opening. The current box office numbers are estimated at Rs 9.93 crore, with numbers expected to cross the Rs 10 crore mark ahead of the film’s release. This will set the film up for a good start at the box office. While the movie will record the highest opening of 2026, it will have to face off against ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Fighter’ to record the highest Republic Day collections. While the Shah Rukh Khan starrer has a collection of Rs 58 crore, the Hrithik Roshan action film earned Rs 41.20 crore. Deepika Padukone’s ‘Padmaavat’ holds the third spot with a collection of Rs 32 crore and ‘Raees’ holds the fourth spot with a collection of Rs 26.30 crore. ‘Jai Ho’ rounds up the top 5 spot with a collection of Rs 26.25 crore.
