According to the Mid-Day report, Karan Johar-backed upcoming web series ‘Nazdeekiyan’ is inspired by his film ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’, which featured Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, and Preity Zinta in the lead roles. The report stated, “The series is a contemporary take on infidelity. ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’, though controversial at the time, aged well, with generations resonating with the four leads’ conflict.”The report further stated that the production house “was keen to revisit the idea, and from there, the story for ‘Nazdeekiyan’ was fleshed out.”Though the show is set to showcase similar issues, the storyline will not be the same. The report added, “The DNA is similar, but the situations and setting of the four leads here are different.”

The show is directed by Ruchir Arun and is reportedly set to have 20 episodes. It will be headlined by Taha Shah Badussha and Nikita Dutta. The series will stream on Amazon Prime Video; however, the official premiere date is yet to be announced.
