‘Border 2’ has clearly done just what was expected out of the film. The Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, Diljit Dosanjh starrer is courting a lot of love from the audience and it’s also reflecting in the box office numbers. The film had good advance ticket sales and it ended up making Rs 30 crore on Friday, day 1. On Saturday, it saw a minor growth of around Rs. 5 crore and made Rs. 36.5 crore. However, the Sunday numbers were massive. The film saw a growth of 49.32 percent on day 3, according to Sacnilk and made Rs. 54.5 crore on Saturday. The film is expected to see further jump and benefit from the National holiday on Republic day. So far, it has clearly benefited from the long weekend, especially on Sunday. The night shows on Monday, may not have as many footfalls due to people getting back to work the next day, but there may be a higher occupancy in the afternoon and night shows of the film. Till afternoon, ‘Border 2’ has made around Rs. 7.86 crore. The total collection of the movie now in India stands at Rs. 128.86 crore. According to trade website, Box Office India, the film may create the kind of impact which ‘Gadar 2’ did. The atmosphere outside theatres has turned absolutely wild, with the kind of frenzy that hasn’t been seen across the Hindi belts since ‘Gadar 2’. In fact, not just the energy but even the box office numbers on Sunday are being spoken of in the same breath as ‘Gadar 2’, despite collections over the first two days trailing by a fair margin.
