In May, Bonnie Tyler underwent emergency surgery after experiencing severe abdominal pain and was placed in a medically induced coma. Now, according to the latest updates, the singer is finally out of her coma following the surgery. Here is what we know so far about what has happened.

According to her website and Facebook account, Bonnie Tyler, best known for songs like ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ and ‘Lost in France,’ is finally out of her coma. However, her manager, Matt Davis, stated that while she is no longer in an induced coma, her recovery journey remains lengthy.His statement read, “Bonnie’s family and team would like to update everyone on how she is progressing with her recovery. Bonnie is no longer in a coma but remains very unwell and in intensive care in hospital in Portugal. Although her condition is improving, it is a slow process.” He continued, “Her doctors remain confident that she will make a good recovery, but it is going to take time.”

Davis also said they will cancel the rest of the year’s tour dates due to her condition. The decision was made to ensure Tyler has enough time to recover.“As such, we are sorry to tell everyone that we will be cancelling or postponing until next year, where possible, all of our remaining shows this summer. This will affect every current show until the end of August. At present, we are still hopeful that our shows in the autumn will go ahead,” Davis mentioned in the statement.Further, Davis asked for understanding and thanked fans for their unending support for Tyler. “We apologise to all of Bonnie’s fans and to our promoter partners for the disappointment that this will cause but trust that you will understand and bear with us in these difficult circumstances,” the statement concluded.

Bonnie Tyler was hospitalized and had to undergo surgery last month.

Earlier in May, the veteran singer underwent emergency surgery at a hospital in Faro, Portugal. She was rushed to the medical center after experiencing extreme discomfort.To aid her recovery, doctors at the hospital placed her in a medically induced coma. The Sun had reported that in April, the singer had “intense abdominal pain shortly after arriving in Portugal, where she has a second home, following inconclusive tests in London.” Following this, there were also reports that the doctor’s attempts to bring her out of a coma earlier ended up with more complications as the singer went into cardiac arrest at the time.Earlier in March, the singer had been fit and fine and had even given an update about her health to HELLO! Magazine. She had mentioned, “I’m fit enough at the moment, touch wood, and I’m really enjoying doing the shows.” Days ago, on June 8, the singer turned 75 years old, and while she was still in a coma, her fans and netizens took to social media to celebrate the day for her.
