Boney Kapoor shares 'Mom 2' update; Unveils vision for International Film city; Calls PM Modi an achiever

Producer Boney Kapoor heaped praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an event in New Delhi, describing him as an “achiever” who has guided the country through several challenging periods.Boney Kapoor attended the launch of ‘The Chabimaster’ written by Harinder Singh Sikka. Speaking on the sidelines of the event, the veteran producer expressed pride in India’s progress and confidence in the country’s leadership.

Boney Kapoor praises PM Modi

During his interaction with ANI, Boney Kapoor spoke at length about the country’s leadership and security apparatus.He said, “I’m proud of the people managing the entire defence, the country, everything. Proud of India and proud to be an Indian. I’m happy to be living in these times where we are protected and well protected. PM Modi is an achiever, and he has led the country well, whether during Covid, war, Operation Sindoor, Pulwama, Uri, or any other crisis. Even the present situation is being handled very well. The entire world recognises his contribution to our country and to mankind.”

‘Mom 2’ goes on floors in new film city

Apart from speaking about national affairs, Boney Kapoor also shared updates about his upcoming production, ‘Mom 2’, the sequel to the 2017 film ‘Mom’ starring the late Sridevi. According to Boney Kapoor, the film has already commenced production and holds a special distinction as the first project to be shot at the new International Film City being developed along the Yamuna Expressway near Greater Noida.Providing details about the project, Kapoor said, “The shooting of Mom 2 is going on here. The director is Girish Kohli, who was the writer of Mom I. The producer is me and my partner, Akshai Puri. The action director is Vijayan from the South. He is among the most accomplished action directors. We have technicians from different places. We have an actor from Bengal, Jishu. We have a television and a movie actor, Karishma Tanna, who is also playing a very important part in the film.”

Vision for a world-class entertainment hub

Boney Kapoor also outlined his ambitious plans for the International Film City project. According to him, the facility will go far beyond traditional film production infrastructure.He said, “Our effort is to make sure it (Film City) is different and is elaborate in every given sense. Besides Film City, this would have a theme park. This would have lots of entertainment sections. Which probably will surprise many. All kinds of films, OTT, drama, television, serial. We will make podcast sets. Everything. There will also be a media centre here. So everything that is related to entertainment and media will have a base here.” During the inauguration press conference, Boney Kapoor also announced an incentive for OTT creators. He revealed that projects can currently shoot on existing sets at the Film City free of cost.Explaining the decision, Boney Kapoor said, “Yes, but only on this set. It is because this set is a good luck. It is an incentive for other producers to come and for us, the more people who can benefit from this, the more people will come, and the more discussions will be about this film city. Everyone will know that the film city has started here.”He concluded by saying, “I am thankful to God, I am thankful to Yogi ji, I am thankful to Modi ji, that they gave me this opportunity that I should be able to give something. And I have to make this thing (International Film City) bigger.” Go to Source
