Boney credits Sridevi for weight loss, hair transplant

Boney Kapoor credits late wife Sridevi for inspiring weight loss and hair transplant: 'I have quit cigarettes twice in my life for her'

Boney Kapoor’s transformation has left fans in awe. Shedding 26 kilos, quitting smoking, and even undergoing a hair transplant, the producer’s striking change isn’t just about fitness, it’s a testament to the enduring influence of his late wife, Sridevi. Behind every disciplined meal and health decision was her gentle yet firm guidance, shaping not just his body, but his choices and mindset.

From 114 kgs to 88: Boney’s weight loss journey

During a recent interview with Chandra Kochhar, Boney shared that Sridevi was his guiding light when it came to making lifestyle changes. At 88 kilos now, he revealed that he still aims to lose a few more kilos to reach 85. The weight loss, he said, was all about disciplined eating: juices, fruits like amla and kiwi, two egg-white omelettes, light lunches of soup or jowar roti with dal and sabzi, and dinners of tandoori chicken or soup. Occasional cheat days were allowed, he admitted, but the focus remained constant.

Sridevi’s nudge: the hair transplant story

The legendary producer also opened up about how Sridevi encouraged him to undergo a hair transplant. “When Sri was there, she was after me and took me to the hospital once for donor hair. I used to think at that time, ‘When I have Sri with me, why do I need to put hair? I won’t get a more beautiful girl than her,’” he recalled.

Quit smoking twice, thanks to Sridevi

Smoking, too, was a habit that Sridevi helped him break — twice. The first time was before their marriage in 1995, during a trip to New York. Boney remembered the moment vividly: Sridevi confronted him at a restaurant, reminding him of his love and asking him to give up cigarettes. He threw the cigarette and the lighter immediately, filling a whole carton of cigarettes with water and staying smoke-free for 12 years.A later relapse was short-lived, as Sridevi once again urged him to quit. Even after her passing, when the temptation arose, Boney refused. “When her body was right in front of me, I was in a bad shape and itching to smoke. I went to the balcony and people were smoking there. You feel the urge even more due to the smell. Then I told myself, she’s just gone, and if I start smoking again now, it would mean I am shallow and empty. I didn’t smoke then, and I never will,” he said. Go to Source
